Coaching is all about developing your self-awareness and identifying opportunities. I can help you find solutions, develop skills, and make sustainable changes to reach your goals.
My areas of expertise include:
- Writing process & productivity
- PhD or book completion
- Time management
- Career change / starting a business
1-2-1 coaching sessions take place over the phone or at my office in central Brighton (or on the beach, if you’d rather be outdoors).
I usually recommend a programme of three one-hour sessions, spread over 6 weeks. My fee is £90 per session. The typical structure is as follows:
Session 1 (Discovery) – Establishing your goals and timescale; discussing what’s happening at the moment; considering your choices.
Session 2 (Clarity) – Deciding on the most important action; developing a plan for completion.
Session 3 (Action) – Reviewing and reflecting on actions; tweaking your plan; maintaining accountability.
If you’re ready to take action, please complete the form below. I’ll take a look to see whether I can help you, then I’ll be in contact to arrange the first session. For general queries, please email me.
Feedback from previous clients
“A brilliant session. I feel I now have a really clear sequence of steps to get me from rough first draft to submission. The reassurance this gave me has boosted my confidence and motivation.”
“I am very grateful to Catherine, who helped me to put in perspective the challenges I was facing when writing. We worked on establishing a healthier work routine, which made me more confident about completing my PhD is helping me progress with less anxiety.” (PhD student)
“Catherine was really helpful and reassuring, and helped me to feel much less anxious about where I am with my PhD. I already feel much more motivated to press on in a much more measured and focused way, and to take things one step at a time rather than allowing myself to be overwhelmed with the immensity of the overall task.” (PhD student)
“Catherine’s coaching session was a great start to my viva preparation, which I had been feeling very daunted by. The session had structure but she was also very responsive to concerns as they came up. She combined concrete advice on how to prepare with questions and suggestions that helped me identify strategies I could use to address issues around confidence, and which helped me notice my own capabilities. It was incredibly useful to have a one-to-one session in which I could safely discuss fears and concerns and draw on her wealth of knowledge.” (PhD student)
